TouristIn 2009, GIO “the German international organization” began operating in Forish District. Over three years, they provided training in tourism services and organized English language courses. Family guesthouse members were trained, and the organization helped promote the guesthouses to local and international tour operators. As part of this initiative, Yahshigul Guesthouse was established in Asraf village. Guesthouses were also set up in Uhum, Hayot, Eski Forish, and Sentob villages. For four years, the program supported the development of these guesthouses. Since then, all guesthouse owners, including us, have continued working independently, welcoming visitors to this day.

Take a walk through one of the real villages nestled in the Nurata Mountains and experience the lifestyle of its local people. At Yahshigul Guesthouse, my parents, my wife, and I, along with our three sons, run the family business. Our guesthouse is located in the beautiful Asraf village, situated on the slopes of two mountain ridges in the stunning Nurata Mountains of Uzbekistan. In our village, most people are engaged in livestock farming and agriculture. Villagers plant vegetables in their gardens primarily for their own use. Our garden is vast, featuring ancient trees, including walnut trees that are 300 to 400 years old. You can relax under the shade of these trees, sitting on a tapchan (a traditional raised platform) or at a table, listening to the soothing sound of a flowing spring. It’s also a perfect spot to read a book or simply unwind.
